Fun letter and sound activities

Teacher loved using in a kindergarten class.

Bright colors, plenty of creative uses.

We got this for our preschooler and he loves it. I've found our preferred use is in doors and having him call out letter sounds then tossing the ball with each correct answer. There are a lot of creative uses to help encourage learning with physical activity!

26 Letters and More! Might Not Be Sturdy Enough to Teach My Boy His Letters, Though

I bought this ball for my 4-year old Alaskan Husky. He's pretty smart and is ready to start reading, so I thought this would be a good tool to start teaching him the alphabet. The included pump (plus 5 needles, a short hose, and a plastic enema-like tip) inflated the ball pretty quickly. I wanted to ensure all 26 letters of the alphabet were present, and it took me about 126 seconds. I think if my plan of using it to teach my dog to read doesn't pan out, I've an idea for a new drinking game (seeing how long it takes to find the letters of the alphabet . . . backwards!).So I set off teaching my Husky his letters. "Say 'A'" I said as I pointed to "A". He replied "RAAWAAWAAA," which I believe is Husky for "A." "Say 'B'" I said as I pointed to "B". He repeated "RAAWAAWAAA." I'm thinking he wanted to focus on vowels, so we moved on to the letter "E." "Say 'E'" I said as I pointed to "E", to which he replied "REEWEEWEE." "He's getting it!" I thought. But when I asked him to say "I", he laid down and just looked at the ball, presumably confusing the letter "I" for the number 1 which honestly, can confuse most adults. This went on for several minutes until he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep. We didn't get past "E" in our game of "Say your letters," so after his nap we took the ball outside and played a game of "Go get the ball and carefully bring it back to me" since it's advertised as being "perfect for early learning and outdoor play." This didn't turn out as hoped, and he ran up and down the street with it in his mouth. As I approached him, he changed the game to "Keep Away" and the afternoon spiraled into chaos with him completely mauling the alphabet ball as I chased around the neighborhood. Sufficed to say, his antics ended up completely letting the air out of my plan to teach him his letters.I think the ball would have been better suited for a small human instead of my Husky, but I didn't read anything in the product details about NOT being for dogs. I think Amazon and the manufacturer should be more clear about that.PROs: Comes with pump, inflates easily, held air until it was punctured, better than a wrench for dodgeball, is round instead of football shaped. I don't think a football is a very good Christmas present.CONs: Not for dogs.Would I recommend it? Sure! Just not for dogs!

Great for teaching, but some designs are questionable

This Crayola soccer-style ball is super cute for kids. It is easy to blow up and holds air well. It's also very thick and feels sturdy. I ordered the alphabet design, so each hex has a different letter in a colorful graffiti style art. However, my biggest complaint is that some of the letters are difficult to read and identify. Specifically, for example, the J and Y are lowercase and in cursive. I like using this ball to teach my toddler the alphabet, but he can hardly recognize that these letters are letters at all. I would prefer if all letters were uppercase and/or easier to read. Overall, I still recommend this ball, but would also recommend waiting for a discount from the current price of $21.49.

Fun, Educational, and Kid-Approved Soccer Ball!

This Crayola Score N' Explore soccer ball is such a clever and colorful learning toy! It’s a full-sized, size 5 ball covered in bright alphabet letters, which makes it perfect for turning everyday play into an interactive learning experience. My toddler loves kicking it around while naming letters—it’s a great way to sneak in some education during active time. The ball comes deflated but includes a hand pump, which was super handy. Ours came with just one needle, but that was all we needed. The included crayons were a fun little bonus, too. The ball inflates easily and feels sturdy enough for indoor and outdoor play. It’s a little softer than a traditional soccer ball, which makes it more toddler-friendly.That said, it's not really meant for serious soccer matches—the stitching and material are more toy-grade than pro-level, and a few spots looked a little unfinished. Still, for play and learning at home or in the park, it's fantastic. I'd definitely recommend it for families with preschoolers or early learners!

Good quality and fun with letters

Really cute in the sense that it has alphabet all around it and it's great for a toddler to kick around. Quality is really good and you get the tools you need to inflate the ball. Came packaged in a plain plastic bag and has stayed inflated this entire time. Overall I'm happy with the quality and think it's really nice for a child.

Colorful Soccer Ball

The Crayola soccer ball comes with a pump. It was a learning curve to use the pump and I do wish it had come with some instructions. Once blown up the ball was easy to play with and kick around. It is bright and colorful with pictures and letters. This is a great toy that doesn't involve screens. I did feel like I had to keep inflating this though.

Cute ball, but confused as to what makes it special.

Cute ball, but I thought we would get the one with fruit, but we got the alphabet one instead. If you scan the QR code on the ball, the one that we got is supposed to come with crayons, but it didn't. It also didn't have any instructions on what you're supposed to do with it. They should work on packaging and explanation, and actually send crayons with it. I guess it's just a ball for play.
